Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung and his Lao counterpart Somsavat Lengsavad had a working meeting with the Governor of Houaphanh Province.
The Governor took the occasion to thank the strong support of the Government and people of Vietnam in all fields to his province.
According to the local leader, Vietnam’s three northern provinces of Sơn La, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An which all share the border line with Houaphanh, have always supported their Lao neighboring province.
As of 1997, Vietnamese investors have poured over US $16 million in 51 investment projects in agricultural area (29.64% of capital) and industrial and commercial aspects (over 64%), revealed the Governor.
He also expressed his desire to seek further support from the Vietnamese Government to encourage more and more Vietnamese business players to boost their presence in Houaphanh./.
