During their talks on September 15 in Hanoi, PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his Lao counterpart Bouasone Bouphavanh agreed with orientations and measures to foster the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The talks were held on the occasion of Lao PM Bouasone Bouphavanh’s official visit toVietnam on September 15-17.
The leaders agreed that the two sides should continue to exchange delegations of all levels, creating a firm foundation for stronger and closer bilateral comprehensive cooperation.
They also confirmed their determination to soon complete the compilation of the Vietnam-Laos cooperation strategy 2011-2020 and the bilateral cooperation agreement in 2011-2015.
The two PMs agreed to create more favorable conditions for cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture, education, tourism, transport, healthcare, agriculture, hydroelectricity, telecommunications, mining and others.
The two countries will take concrete measures to increase the two-way trade turnover to US $2 billion in 2015.

The PMs pledged to urge their inferiors to complete the border demarcation and marker planting work by 2014, to encourage investment projects while controlling crimes in border areas, and to establish an aviation joint venture.
Lao PM Bouasone Bouphavanh called upon Vietnamese investors to do business in Laos, especially in Xieng Khouang and Houaphanh Provinces, committing to favorable conditions for them.

After the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a bilateral air transport agreement, a protocol on facilitating road vehicles to cross border, and a memorandum of understanding on tapping aviation potential.
