The Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment hailed the constant and fruitful assistance of the World Bank (WB) for the socio-economic development in Vietnam.

Between September 27 and October 10, Minister Vo Hong Phuc had a working visit to the US where he met with leaders of the WB, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
Vietnam hopes to receive further support from the WB to realize its socio-economic development strategy and plans in the period of 2011-2015, said Mr. Phuc while meeting with WB President Robert Zoellick.
The WB President lauded Vietnam for her socio-economic advancements, implementation of the UN-initiated Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), as well as poverty reduction.
Vietnam is one of the best countries efficiently utilizing the WB’s capital, said Mr. Robert Zoellick while adding that the WB will continue to stand by Vietnam to fulfill the preset goals in the coming time.
During his American trip, Mr. Phuc also had separate discussions with leaders of the IMF and the USAID on global economic recovery, Vietnam’s economy, and the future challenges.
The Vietnamese Minister partook in a business seminar and investment promotion activities in Nevada and California to clear out business difficulties for American investors in Vietnam./.
