Vietnam and South Africa, according to Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung, should give more priority to their bilateral cooperation in economics, trade and investment.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung this afternoon hosted a reception given to South Africa’s Vice President Kgalema Motlanthe.
He suggested that the two sides should beef up their all-around ties, not only in politics and diplomacy but also economics, trade and investment.
The two sides should organize an intergovernmental cooperation forum late this year, said PM Dung, adding that Vietnam and South Africa should cement and deepen their coordination on bilateral and multilateral forums, especially the UN.
Showing his agreement with the host leader’s suggestions, Vice President Kgalema Motlanthe asserted that stronger economic cooperation would be a driving force for cooperative activities in othe potential fields like environment, security and education.
Mr. Kgalema Motlanthe proposed bilateral negotiations for the launching of a direct air route between his country and Vietnam.
