The General Statistics Office (GSO) plans to organize the national census for rural areas, agriculture and aquaculture, scheduled on July 1-30, 2011.
It is part of the GSO’s 2011 working agenda that was introduced at its national conference held in Thua Thien-Hue Province on January 17-18.
To prepare for the national census, the GSO will focus on consolidating the Steering Committee for the work, training investigators, raising people’s awareness of the event, and applying new techniques for the census.
In addition, the GSO during the year will also conduct a business survey, a survey on workforce and employment, quarterly surveys on export-import services of enterprises, and a business survey of non-agricultural individuals.
The figure in 2010 is chosen as the base one for comparing with those in the following years, instead of the 1994’s figure, said the GSO.
In 2010, the statistic sector carried out 26 surveys on socio-economic fields and a national population census started last April./.
