Japan has pledged an ODA of nearly ¥58.2 billion (some US $306 million) for Vietnam to building Nghi Son 1 Thermoelectric Plant, Nhat Tan Bridge and facilitating poverty reduction program.
On January 21, Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yasuaki Tanizaki, on behalf of their respective governments, signed diplomatic notes about the ODA provision.
The Vietnamese minister said the ministry will coordinate with relevant agencies to effectively disburse the fund for those projects.
With the new commitment, the Japanese Government has pledged a total ODA of ¥1,645 billion for Vietnam since 1992./.
