An economic workshop was co-organized by Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) on February 18 in Tokyo.

The workshop aims to introduce Vietnam’s socio-economic development strategy for 2011-2020 period and to provide the Japanese investors with latest economic, trade and investment data.
Investment policies as well as business opportunities in Vietnamwere also introduced at the workshop.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh introduced key outcomes of the 11th National Party Congress, including new strategy and guidelines adopted at the event.
Vietnamwill continue pursuing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, for peace and cooperation, and actively take part in international integration process, the diplomat stressed.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Sumitaka Fujita, Special Advisor of ITOCHU Corporation, spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements during the past years, particularly of its high economic growth rates of 5.3% and 6.8% in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
He stressed that Vietnam’s high growth rates in the context of global financial crisis and economic downturn reflect the country’s strong economic strength./.
