Vietnam commodities have secured a second largest market share in Cambodia , trade officials said.
In 2010, Vietnam overcame China to rank second in terms of market share in Cambodia , just behind Thailand , Tu Minh Thien, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), said at a seminar themed “ Cambodia – An open market for Vietnamese businesses” in the city on March 29.
Thien said Vietnamese enterprises are sparing no efforts to expand the distribution system in Cambodia , adding that the Sai Gon Trading Group and SaiGon Co.op are planning to build two more supermarkets in the neighbouring country later this year.
Vu Thinh Cuong, Vietnamese commercial counsellor in Cambodia , said Cambodia holds an array of potentials as it is not a demanding market and shares similarities with the Vietnamese one./.
