State President Nguyen Minh Triet on April 14 received Slovak Minister of Economy and Construction Juraj Miskov who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

President Triet said that there are many favorable conditions for respective businesses to develop economic, trade and investment cooperation, and that Vietnam is willing to welcome more Slovak investors to set footholds in the country.
The State President also expressed his pleasure to witness the developments in the friendly relations between the two countries.
He took the occasion to thank Slovakia for supporting Vietnam in lifting anti-dumping tariffs against Vietnamese leather-capped shoes.
Minister Juraj Miskov said that Vietnam is a gateway for Slovakia to penetrate into the ASEAN market. On the other hand, Slovakia is ready to serve as a bridge to bring Vietnam closer to the European market.
Vietnam and Slovakia share quite a few similarities in development orientations and could help each other, said Mr. Shar Juraj Miskov.
He also hoped that the visit would open more opportunities for business communities of the two sides to get detailed agreements on trade and investment./.
