The Japanese Government offered US $2.48 million in non-refundable aid to 27 projects in Vietnam the fiscal year of 2010.
The aid went to the fields of research, education, health care, transport and communication, agriculture and fisheries as well as the environment.
The projects on research, education and transport and communication accounted for 90% of the total projects signed during that fiscal year.
With the Japanese aid, a number of schools were built or improved to serve the goal of universalizing education for all and promoting primary education in localities.
In 2010 alone, of the 27 Japanese aid-benefited projects, 15 were involved in building schools and five others, in providing equipment for vocational training schools and schools for children with disabilities.
Until now, 398 local agencies and non-governmental organizations have received the non-refundable aid from the Japanese Government. /.
