The World Bank on June 5 approved the Project Clean Production and Energy Efficiency with total investment of US 2.37 million in Vietnam.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of Việt Nam and other stakeholders for the effective delivery of the national energy efficiency program in key industrial sectors, thereby improving energy efficiency and reducing associated greenhouse gas emissions.
The project is comprised of three components.
The first component is to deal with energy efficiency action plans for key industrial sectors. This component will provide technical assistance for such activities as: formulation of energy efficiency strategies and action plans for energy-intensive and high growth industrial sectors.
The second component is engaged with development of energy service providers.
The third component focuses on capacity building for program management, and monitoring and evaluation through provision of expert assistance and training activities in implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of various energy efficiency projects, programs, and policies./.
