PM Nguyen Tan Dung highly valued the outcomes of talks between Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Crown Prince Frederik and hoped that the visit by Danish businesses accompanying the Crown Prince would promote the two nations’s multi-faceted cooperation.
The PM thanked Denmark for providing an Official Development Assistance (ODA) ammount of US $1 billion, saying it has actively contributed to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development.
The PM also suggested the Danish Government assist Viet Nam in achieving its set socio-economic development goals and tackling issues related to climate change and sea level rise through ODA.
The two sides also need to push up economic, trade and investment cooperation to raise their two-way trade turnover, the PM added.
He also proposed Denmark to increase scholarships for Vietnamese students as well as create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living and working in Denmark.
The Crown Prince, for his part, said Demark always supports cooperative activities between the two governments, especially those in economics, trade, investment, education and training, and adaption to climate change and sea level rise.
He also proposed the launch of a direct flight between Viet Nam and Denmark in the near future to develop tourism between the two sides.
Mr. Frederik spoe highly of sustainable development goals set by Viet Nam and asserted that Denmark will cooperate with Viet Nam in all fields.
After the reception, the PM and the Crown Prince witnessed Vietnamese FM Pham Binh Minh and Danish Minister for Trade and Investment Pia Olsen Dyrh signing a joint statement on the establishment of a strategic partnership on green growth, the environment and climate change adaptation./.
