Bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and the United States has reached 997 million U.S. dollars in the first four months of this year, a 10 percent rise compared to 902 million U.S. dollars in the same period last year, according to the record of the U.S. Department of Commerce seen on Monday.
During the January-April period this year, Cambodia's exports to the U.S. were 917 million U.S. dollars, up 7 percent if compared to the same period last year, whilst the country's imports from the United States were 80 million U.S. dollars, up 67 percent.
Most products from Cambodia to the United States are garments, and there are also some footwear, milled rice, and fish and seafood. In return, Cambodia imported from the United States vehicles, machinery, and medical equipment and supplies.
According to the report, the two countries' trade volume was 2. 9 billion U.S. dollars in 2011, up 18 percent from 2.45 billion U. S. dollars in a year earlier. /.
