The two-way trade turnover between Viet Nam and Cambodia touched US$3.3 billion in 2012, up 17% from the previous year, according to the Vietnamese Trade Office in Cambodia.
Viet Nam'sexportvolume tothe neighbouring countryvalued US$2.8 billion,representing 18% increasefrom 2011. Meanwhile, its importvolumewas US$486 million, a rise of 13.19% from 2011.
Statistics showed that Viet Nam mainly ships steel, confectionery, cereals, garments and textiles, vegetables, paper, machines and accessories to Cambodia. Its imports encompass seafood, maize, tobacco, rubber, rice and cashew nuts.
Over the past years, the two countries have created favourable conditions for border trade, which is expected to help the two sides attainthetwo-way trade volume of US$5 billionin 2015.
