The Vietnamese Government-initiated policies on the macro-economy are on the right track and have churned out positive outcomes, said Alfred Schipker, Mission Chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Viet Nam.

Mr. Alfred Schipker made the assessment on Tuesday in Ha Noi while meeting with Vietnamese Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh.
The Vietnamese macro-economy is following the right direction with positive progress yielded like a lower inflation rate, a reasonable growth rate and a higher foreign reserve.
The IMF expert proposed the Vietnamese Government continue to persist in the orientations of keeping the macro-economic stability and consolidating market confidence, and speed up the economic restructuring.
He also hoped to foster ties and strengthen technical assistance and experience sharing with the Vietnamese Government and ministries.
For his part, Deputy PM Ninh thanked the valuable support the IMF has given Viet Nam in the wake of global economic downturn.
Viet Nam, said the host leader, would receive and take into serious consideration the IMF’s proposals while making policies./.
