PM Nguyen Tan Dung has stated that security co-operation is an important pillar in the Viet Nam – Japan strategic partnership.

He made the statement during a reception for Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission of Japan (NPSC), Keiji Furuya in Ha Noi on July 29.
PM Dung stressed that Viet Nam attaches importance to promoting co-operation with Japan in all areas for both countries’ interests, peace, co-operation and development in the region.
Valuing highly the outcomes of the talks held earlier between Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang and Chairman Furuya, PM Dung also said that the Chairman’s visit has contributed to boosting bilateral multi-faceted relations.
He affirmed the Government’s support for co-operative activities between the NPSC and the Ministry of Public Security and asked both agencies to enhance delegation exchanges to discuss specific and effective co-operation activities and share security experience.
The Government leader also suggested that Japan should help Viet Nam train security officers.
Chairman Furuya made clear that his visit’s purpose is to enhance co-operative activities between the two agencies, particularly in training, experience sharing and preventing social crimes.
He hoped that the Vietnamese Government will support these activities as these aim to deepen bilateral security ties./.
