Vietnam, Taiwan strengthen economicties

The 2th Vietnam-Taiwan Joint Business Council Meeting took place on October 15 in Ho Chi Minh City to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two sides.
The conference jointly organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Taiwan-based Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (VIECA).
Speaking at the event, CIECA Chairman Chung-yu Wang said the meeting helps realise reached agreements and also increase Taiwanese investment waves to Vietnam and flows of Vietnamese workers to Taiwan.
Presently, Taiwanese enterprises, consisting of small, medium and large companies, wish to invest in Vietnam , therefore Vietnam needs to increase trust and guarantee a favourable business environment for foreign businesses by improving the legal framework and infrastructure.
VCCI Permanent Deputy Chairman Hoang Van Dung said Taiwan ranks third among countries and territories investing in Vietnam with nearly 2,260 projects worth nearly 30 billion USD, whilst Vietnam has around 100,000 Vietnamese workers in Taiwan, accounting for 22 percent of Vietnam’s labour force abroad.
As part of the conference, Vietnamese and Taiwanese businesses operating in banking, construction, property, chemicals and food will meet to seek partnerships.
