Vietnam, Namibia target enhanced cooperation
Viet Nam has always attached importance to and wants to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with African countries, including Namibia , for the pragmatic interests of the two peoples.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement at his meeting with visiting Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba in Ha Noi on November 19.
Speaking highly of the outcomes reached at the talks between President Hifikepunye Pohamba and President Truong Tan Sang, PM Dung voiced his hope that the Namibian President’s visit will create a milestone to elevate the two countries’ relationship to a new level.
He noted with pleasure the fruitful development in the linkage and suggested the two sides enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment.
The leader underlined the need for the two countries to create favourable conditions for their businesses to promote trade, investment and tourism while continuing to implement triple-sided cooperative projects in agriculture and call on the involvement of the private sector in this realm.
He suggested the two sides tighten their coordination in regional and international cooperation within the framework of the South-South Cooperation.
The PM used the occasion to thank Namibia for recognising Viet Nam’s full market economy, pledging that the Vietnamese Government will actively implement agreements reached during the Namibian President’s visit to Viet Nam, especially in investment, trade, education and training, healthcare, tourism and air transport services.
President Hifikepunye Pohamba briefed his host on the results of his talks with President Sang, during which the two leaders agreed to step up cooperation in politics, diplomacy, particularly people-to-people diplomacy, and twinning relationships between major cities in order to raise mutual understanding between the two peoples.
The two sides also consented to strengthen ties in investment, trade, education and training, healthcare and tourism, he said.
Namibia will create every favourable condition for Vietnamese businesses to invest in the Southern African country, especially on the planes of mining, agriculture and tourism, he affirmed.
The Namibian leader expressed his condolences to Vietnamese flood victims, urging countries worldwide, particularly developing nations, to effectively implement the United Nations Framework on Climate Change to reduce the impacts of climate change./.
