Vietnam hopes to deepen ties with Australia
Viet Nam always treasures and hopes to cement and deepen its comprehensive partnership with Australia in a practical and efficient manner, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

The Vietnamese Government chief made the point on February 18 at his reception for Australian FM Julie Bishop who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.
The host leader suggested the two sides strengthen exchanges of high-ranking delegations to spur the multifaceted relations particularly in the areas of economics, trade, investment, education-training and tourism.
He also hoped that Australia would continue providing ODA for Viet Nam particularly in infrastructure building.
Regarding the East Sea issue, Mr. Dung proposed Australia continue supporting ASEAN in the implementation of the Declaration of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and in forming a Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC), along with ensuring maritime security and safety in the waters.
For her part, Minister Julie Bishop highlighted that Australia extremely attaches importance to the relations with Viet Nam. The two sides have discussed specific ways to elevate the bilateral relations in the coming times especially in such areas as trade, investment, energy and mining.
There are opportunities for both sides tofurther education and training cooperation, said Ms. Julie Bishop.
She also revealed that the Australian Government would provide morescholarships for Vietnamese students and create best conditions for their study in Australia.
The guest leader also confirmed Australia’s backing for the maintenance of maritime security and safety in the East Sea, hoping to promote cooperation with Viet Nam in security, defense, especially transnational crime prevention./.
