(MPI Portal) – In the afternoon on April 15th, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Minister Bui Quang Vinh had a meeting with Asia Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Vietnam, Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura to discuss Development Partnership Forum of Triangle region of Cambodia – Laos – Vietnam (CLV).

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura said that this is the first Development Partnership Forum held for CLV development Triangle region, so ADB desires to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and participated provinces to organize Forum successfully.
Preparing for the Forum, ADB discussed and encouraged development partners to participate. Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura said that the donors of Forum would be divided into 3 groups: The first Group is donors supporting CLV development Triangle region and taking part in upcoming Forum, including World Bank (WB), Japan, Korea and United Nations; the second Group is the group of donors who are interested but not participate in the Forum, including France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland; the third Group is the donors who do not care because now and in the future, they do not need to invest in CLV development Triangle region.
Minister Bui Quang Vinh thanked ADB for the campaign to boost development partners in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia taking part in the Forum. Proposed by Cambodia, the Forum is an important event, its well performing brings about not only economic benefits, but also political and secure significance of the region. The Minister said that the Forum has achieved initial results while getting the attention of major partners such as ADB, WB, Japan, Korea and other countries to participate in group 2.
Development Partnership Forum for CLV Triangle region is expected to be held on April 21st and 22nd with three sessions, in which the first session will be overview of CLV Development Triangle master plan, session 2 will be on reducing poverty and increasing competitiveness and session 3 will be on the policy and institution for development resource mobilization./.
