(MPI) – This is the confirmation of the Prime Ministers of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam at the 9th Cambodia – Laos – Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area Summit taking place on November 23rd 2016 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The Vietnamese delegation to Cambodia to attend the Summit was led by the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and included leaders from the Ministries of Defense, Public Security, Planning and Investment, Finance, Industry and Trade, Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, Natural Resources and Environment, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Education and Training, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Government Office and five localities in the CLV Development Triangle Area (including Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc).
At the meeting, the three Prime Ministers manifested the nation’s commitments to boost up the cooperation of CLV Development Triangle which is potential but slow development and affirmed the determination of three economies linkage in many fields.
They highly appreciated the cooperative achievements in such key fields as public security, defense, investment, trade, agriculture, transport, tourism and discussed the cooperative performance and outlook of CLV Development Triangle Area and its role in the development of each country.
Regarding cooperative orientation in the coming time, the three Prime Ministers assigned Joint Coordination Committee of CLV Development Triangle Area to draft action plan to connect the three economies by 2030 and planning tourism development of CLV Development Triangle Area and assigned Ministries of Agriculture of the three countries to planning rubber industry development of CLV Development Triangle Area.
The three Prime Ministers also confirmed their commitments to environmental protection, sustainable use and management of natural resources… and called for more active participation of business community and development partners in CLV’s projects.
Conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister of the three countries signed Joint Statement, approved a list of 15 priority cooperative projects of CLV Development Triangle Area and witnessed the Signing Ceremony of “Agreement of Trade Promotion and Facilitation in CLV Development Triangle Area”. The 10thCLV Development Triangle Area Summit will be held in Vietnam in 2018./.
