Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung and a delegation of Vietnamese official attended the 24th Senior Officials Meeting of ASEAN and the European Union (EU) which began on July 5 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event aimed to bolster ASEAN – EU cooperation, as well as celebrate the 40th anniversary of ASEAN – EU Dialogue Relations, with Thailand being the current coordinator.
Participantsevaluatedprogress of ASEAN – EU cooperation in accordance with the Bandar Seri Begawan Action Plan (2013-2017) and discussed the next plan in 2018-2022.
The meeting looks to helpASEAN and the EU to step upcooperation in trade, sustainable development, climate change, people-to-people exchange and security.
