(MPI) - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong received a delegation of Cambodia’s planning department, led by Cambodian Secretary of State, Deputy Minister of Planning Hou Taing Eng on October 18 to attend a short course of “Monitoring and evaluating local plans” in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Phuong welcomed Taing and the delegation to attend the course and said, this showed the great friendship and close cooperation between the two ministries in particular, and the two governments in general.
A 30-day training course (October 16 - November 16) aims to share experiences, knowledge on building the monitoring and evaluation plans, and master plans of Vietnam with Cambodian side. This is an essential activity of the 19th meeting of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee, he stressed.
The course consists of 13 topics such as introduction of Vietnam’s socio-economic development plan; building of local socio-economic development plans; reality, building, monitoring and evaluation of regional and provincial planning of Vietnam and so on.
Taing hoped that this course will leverage the two ministries’ relation in the time to come. He said, the MPI and the Government of Vietnam have supported the planning sector and Government of Cambodia in many areas, particularly in personnel training.
The guest affirmed Cambodian cadres will actively learn Vietnam’s experiences to enhance their capacity, contribute to Cambodia’s development and to preserving and enhancing the Vietnam-Cambodia relationships evergreen and everlasting./.
