On the basis of the blooming bilateral ties, Vietnam and Portugal still have potential conditions to strengthen cooperation, said Deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem, adding that Vietnam is willing to receive Portuguese enterprises to do business and investment there.
The Deputy PM made the statement at the reception given to Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation João Gomes Cravinho today.
He hoped that Portugal will early start direct investment activities in Vietnam, suggesting the two sides to promote cultural and tourist cooperation.
The trilateral cooperation model among Vietnam, Portugal and a Portuguese-speaking African country is now very effective and should be popularized, said Mr. Khiem.
Mr. João Gomes Cravinho hailed Vietnam’s initiative to open an ASEM Foreign Ministerial Meeting in Hanoi in May.
He expected that the two countries can ink agreements on anti-protectionism and double-tax avoidance soon to boost bilateral investment and commercial relations.
