The success of Vietnam’s ASEAN Presidency in 2010 is of significance to the realization of the ASEAN Charter, specifically to speed up the formation of the ASEAN Community in 2015, consolidate regional solidarity and cooperation, and heighten the country’s image on the international arena.
For those reasons, Deputy PM, FM Pham Gia Khiem, who is also Chairman of the NCAP, asked members of the Committee to thoroughly prepare for the presidency.
He ordered the Committee to quickly announce the slogan and theme of the presidency year as well as finalize the agenda, financial resources and other issues which should be submitted to the Government for approval by November.
