At the opening session of the 3rd meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) today in the central city of Da Nang, State President Nguyen Minh Triet reiterated that Vietnam is proactively integrating into the world community and comprehensively realizing its multilateral and bilateral commitments.

The meeting, attended by nearly 200 leaders from 21 APEC members and regional leading groups, aims at preparing contents which will be submitted to APEC leaders at the APEC Summit scheduled late this year.
At the opening ceremony, President Nguyen Minh Triet stressed thatVietnamhas been creating a favorable business environment for enterprises and investors.
Vietnamadvocated APEC’s leading role in investment and trade liberalization and facilitation to realize the Bogor goals and the vision of the Asia-Pacific free trade area, added the host leader.
He briefed that Vietnamis taking many measures and policies to promote production and business, stimulate consumption, and prevent economic recession.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chair of ABAC 2009 Teng Theng Dar said governments and enterprise community should cooperate to deal with current issues and facilitate companies' investment within the APEC region.
Under the theme “Building towards the Bogor goals with one community”, ABAC focuses on accelerating regional economic integration, building a model of sustainable growth, and strengthening capacity building and enhancing connectivity.
APEC holds 55% of the global GDP and 49% of the global trade value./.
