Vietnam’s Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh (R) and Japanese Ambassador Mitsuo Sakaba on October 29 in Hanoi signed the diplomatic note on the Japanese grant aid for the food security project for underprivileged farmers.
The project, worth of ¥360 million or about US $4 million, will be carried out by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The main target is to improve the living standards of poor people by financing their purchase of input agricultural products and offering assistance funds for local development activities.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh stressed that the aid reconfirms the Government of Japan’s interest in Vietnam’s poverty alleviation as well as the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
