The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will join Alibaba.com of Singapore in assisting Vietnamese businesses’ exports to Africa and APEC member countries.
A cooperation agreement to the effect was signed in Hanoi on Jan. 15 between the VCCI, Alibaba.com and the Investment and Technology Joint Stock Company OSB.
The programme also aims to promote e-trade development in the Vietnam business community.
It will select and assist 100 Vietnamese businesses in using e-trade tools on the world’s leading business-to-business website
Alibaba.com to advertise their products, seek partners and sign export contracts. Additionally, it will organise e-trade training courses and seminars for these businesses.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Senior Manager of Alibaba.com business strategy development section David Tan said that at present the website has attracted more than 100,000 members in Vietnam and this proves that Vietnam is an important market for Alibaba.com.
Also at the ceremony, representatives of the VCCI and the Information and Communications Departments of 10 cities and provinces signed cooperation agreements to promote the application of information technology and communications to help raise businesses’ competitiveness./.
