The World Bank (WB) will provide 46.5 mln USD in non-refundable aid to Laos under an agreement signed in the Laos’ capital city of Vientiane on Feb. 8.
This aid package aims to help Laos develop education, environment, energy, hydroelectricity and oil field. As a result, children in 19 Laos’s poorest districts will have a chance to go to school and 90 percent of households nationwide will get access to electricity in 2020.
So far WB has pledged about 250 mln USD of aid to 18 socio-economic development projects in Laos./.
