The high-ranking Vietnamese delegation was warmly saluted by Jiangsu Vice Governor Zhang Weiguo, representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnamese residents there.
Over the recent years, Vietnam’s localities have set up close economic and commercial links with Jiangsu. Amidst the global financial and economic crisis in 2009, the two-way trade turnover between Vietnamese localities and the province stood at US $2.21 billion.
Vietnam chiefly ships garment products and natural rubber to Jiangsu and imports steel, automatic equipment and components. Especially, the Chinese province and the Vietnamese Southern province of Dong Nai established friendly ties 1995.
Jiangsu also has deep economic and trade linkages with ASEAN member states.
As planned, during his trip, the Vietnamese PM would receive Governor of Jiangsu Province Luo Zhijun and witness the signing ceremonies of economic, investment, and tourism deals between Vietnamese localities and the Eastern China’s province./.
