Continuing his tour to Bulgaria, Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung on July 7 (local time) held talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Simeon Dyankov to beef up economic, trade and investment linkages between the two countries.

At the talks, Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed his belief that with the five or ten-year vision, or even longer, the traditional and friendly ties between Vietnam and Bulgaria would progress more rapidly than the last 60 years.
Mr. Hung also called on Bulgaria to cement and deepen economic ties with Vietnam for mutual substantial benefits as Bulgaria plays a greater role in the EU while Vietnam has higher status in Southeast Asia and Asia.
Deputy PM Hung also sought Bulgarian support for the EU’s early recognition of Vietnam as a market economy.
Vietnam welcomes Bulgarian investors to boost their presence in such fields as services, tourism, healthcare, infrastructure development, he said.

For his part, Bulgarian Deputy PM Simeon Djankov was glad that Vietnam has surmounted the global financial crisis and the two nations are welcoming numerous prospects for future cooperation in various domains.
Specifically, Mr. Simeon Djankov pledged to instruct his inferiors to dispatch Bulgarian business delegations to Vietnam for stronger implementation of the cooperation program between the two sides.

After the talks, the two Deputy PMs directly signed an agreement between the two governments to implement Point 2.4.1 in Article 3 of the minutes of the 21st session of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Inter-governmental Committee for economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation.
On the occasion, Vietnamese Deputy FM Nguyen Quoc Cuong and his Bulgarian counterpart Milen Liutskinov sealed a visa exemption deal for diplomatic and official passport holders.
Deputy President of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association Nguyen Van Tuan and President of the Bulgaria–Vietnam Friendship Association Simeon Dimchev jointly signed the cooperation report between the two organizations.
On the same day, Deputy PM Hung separately met with Bulgarian Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev and President of Nove Holding Group Vassil Bozhkov./.
