Vietnamese Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải and Russian Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina reached an agreement on some ways to cement and deepen the traditional relations between Việt Nam and the Russian Federation.

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai on August 23 in Ha Noi welcomed Russian Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.
The Vietnamese Deputy PM appreciated the recent advancements in the bilateral ties especially the reached agreements between the two sides on economics, investment and trade linkages.
Mr. Hai also touched upon orientations which both Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his Russian counterpart had approved for large-scale industrial cooperation.
The Deputy PM regarded these agreements as significant premises for the two sides’ businesses to make use of and put into reality.
Both the host and the guest spent time on discussing some fields of cooperation like energy, manufacture, telecommunications, exchange of experts as well as technology transfer. In addition, the two sides talked about oil exploitation in Viet Nam, Russia and third countries as well as about Russia’s assistance for nuclear projects in Viet Nam.
Russian Minister Elvira Nabiullina affirmed to do her utmost to spur the bilateral economic ties.
In the short term, the Minister wanted to early finalize negotiations on a bilateral free trade agreement and bring the two-way trade turnover to US $2 billion in 2012.
Both Deputy PM Hai and Russian Minister Elvira Nabiullina also agreed to urge their relevant agencies to boost economic activities, especially during the upcoming official visit of Russian President Mevedev to Viet Nam./.
