Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 4.2 percent in the first half of 2010 to 20.7 trillion rubles (about 670.6 billion U.S. dollars), the RBC news agency reported on Thursday.
According to the Federal Statistics Bureau Rosstat, in the second quarter the economy grew by 5.2 percent year-on-year and by 8 percent compared to the first quarter.
Thus, the figure for the second quarter GDP has been corrected downward from the earlier reported 5.4 percent.
The Ministry of Economic Development put the GDP growth in 2010 at 4 percent./.
