Việt Nam and the UK are going to promote their bilateral cooperation in various fields under the strategic partnership.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet and PM Nguyen Tan Dung this afternoon separately received Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
The Vietnamese leaders expressed their gladness to welcome the Prince to Vietnam for the 1000th birthday anniversary of Thang Long–Hanoi.
Both President Triet and PM Dung asserted that, on the basis of their strategic partnership, Vietnam and the UK should map out specific plans of action to promote their bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment and education.
They believed that the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership would bring about great benefits to both countries.

PM Dung took this occasion to suggest the UK offer more simple visa procedures to Vietnamese students and establish educational facilities in Vietnam.
Prince Andrew confirmed his readiness to make contributions to the development of the bilateral friendship.
He pledged to convey PM Dung’s suggestions to the British Government soon.
The Prince also urged the two sides to speed up negotiations for the launching of a direct air route between the UK and Vietnam./.
