Viet Nam and Ukraine have agreed to enhance cooperation on many issues, including economic, scientific a and technical ones.
The agreement was reached at the 11th meeting of the Viet Nam-Ukraine Inter-governmental Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation that held recently in Ha Noi.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in such fields as investment, SMEs’ assistance, industry, transport, energy and construction. They also discussed concrete measures to improve the bilateral ties.
Viet Nam wishes to expand trade promotion activities in Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh said, adding that the Committee’s efforts will greatly contribute to enhancing the bilateral cooperation.
Two-way trade between Viet Nam and Ukraine in the first 10 months of this year reached US $205.2 million, of which US $96.2 million came from Vietnamese exports.
Viet Nam mainly exports agricultural and forest products, seafood, garments, textiles, footwear, coffee, pepper and rice to Ukraine, while importing mostly wheat, fertilizers, steel, machines and industrial equipment from that country./.
