Earlier, Deputy PM, FM Khiem and Serbian FM Vuk Jeremic held talks to inform the recent situations in respective country and discuss concrete measures to beef up the bilateral ties, particularly in the political, economic, trade and investment fields.
Vietnam always attaches importance to expanding the traditional friendship and cooperation with Serbia, reiterated Deputy PM, FM Khiem.
The two sides agreed to early kick off negotiations for framework agreements on economic and investment cooperation, aiming to create a legal foundation for accelerating the two-way trade and investment linkages.
The two countries will continue maintaining periodical political consultation, strengthening coordination in the regional and international issues of common concern, and for peace, cooperation and development, according to a press release after the talks.
Regarding Kosovo issue, Deputy PM and FM Khiem re-affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy to advocate the United Nation Security Council’s Resolution No. 1244, so that a comprehensive solution would be reached upon the issue, in respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and legitimate interest of concerned parties.

FM Vuk Jeremic expressed his pleasure to visiting Vietnam again and spoke highly of the country’s socio-economic achievements as well as its foreign policy.
He stressed that Serbia would continue to give high priority to push up the bilateral relationship.
Serbia hopes that Vietnam would play an active role in boosting cooperation between Serbia and ASEAN, including its signing of the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation with the ASEAN, said the guest Minister./.
