State President Triet appraised Nokia’s move to build a new mobile phone factory in Vietnam, saying that with political stability and increasingly attractive business environment, the country is now home to a number of big international business giants.
He hoped that the factory would soon come into operation, then effectively contributing to the development of Vietnam as well as Nokia.
The US $2.5 billion-project is scheduled to kick off production by early 2013 with 95% of its products to be exported, and provide about 10,000 jobs to local residents, Mr. Esko Aho said.
The same day, representative of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Finnish mobile phone maker, Nokia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to kick off the construction of the factory in 2012./.
