Vietnam always attaches importance to expanding the bilateral relations with the Philippines, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung while receiving Filipino FM Alberto F.del Rosario on Tuesday.

PM Dung spoke highly of the results of the talks between Deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem and FM Alberto F.del Rosario earlier on the same day, saying that the results would help boost the friendly relationship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.
The Philippines is currently Vietnam’s5thbiggest trade partner and 3rd export market in ASEAN. Two-way trade turnover stood at US $2.4 billion last year.
The Government chief urged competent agencies of the two sides to prepare well for the upcoming meeting of the Inter-governmental committee for cooperation, to acellerate the realization of the bilateral agreements signed by the two countries.
The PM also affirmed Vietnam’s stable rice export to the Philippines.
FM Alberto F.del Rosario stated that during the talks the two FMs discussed measures to comprehensively spur the ties, particularly political, economic, diplomatic, cultural relations.
The FM also thanked Vietnam for assisting the Philippines to ensure food security.
At present, nearly 60 Filipino enterprises are investing in Vietnam with total registered capital of US $300 million, he said./.
