At the working session, Minister Vo Hong Phuc expressed his congratulations on the great achievements made by Cambodian people over the last years and his wishes that Cambodian people would achieve its millennium objectives by 2015. The Minister also gave a brief about Vietnamese situations: right at the beginning of 2011, the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam was held successfully; Over two months of implementation of the plan, the Vietnam economy coped up with some outstanding issues such as trade deficit, requiring the adjustment of Vietnamese dong exchange rate, domestic price tension caused by increased prices in the world market; The CPI in February 2011 increased by 2.87% against the same period last year, which is now a matter of concern of Vietnam. The Government has worked out six groups of solutions to macro economic stabilization, inflation control, social security, economic growth rate recovery in the second half of this year, said the Minister.
For his part, the Cambodian Minister of Planning Chhay Than asked the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment to receive 30 cadres from the Cambodian Planning sector to Vietnam in order to exchange experience about plan development and management. The Minister also urged his counterpart to boost long-term and short-term training courses for 26 cadres of the Cambodian Planning sector and to maintain the training for officials in charge of management of the Khmer version of the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam website and provide a number of electronic equipment and facilities. The Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment is kindly requested to assign experts to calculate GDP in Cambodian provinces and cities, to further promote the youth relationship between the two Ministries and to consider striking up relationships among Vietnamese Departments of Planning and Investment and Cambodian Departments of Planning, he added.
The working session ended in the hope of achieving a new level in the cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia/.
