Thailand's inflation rate for 2011 rose from last year's 3.5 percent to 3.81 percent, the country's permanent secretary for commerce Yanyong Puanmgrat said Thursday.
Consumer price index (CPI) for December 2011, stood at 112.77, up 3.53 percent year on year but down 0.48 percent from the previous month, he added.
Yanyong said inflation in December declined because flood water had receded, reducing prices of consumer goods, particularly fresh food such as vegetables and eggs.
He projected inflation for 2012 at between 3.3 percent and 3.8 percent./.
