The governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) Prasarn Triratworakul on Thursday unveiled projection of this year's economic growth, saying it is anticipated to increase by at least 4.8 percent from last year.
The governor is scheduled to officially release the forecast of this year's economic growth next Friday, February 3.
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (Escap) in December last year expected the country's growth rate to be 4.5 percent.
Thailand's economy expanded only 2 percent, much lower than the previous projection of 4.5 percent last year, due to the heavy flood which had lashed two-thirds of the country since late July./.
