Vietnam, Armenia discuss ways to speed up ties
The official visit the Armenian President, Serzh Sargsyan, would help strengthen relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia.

State President Truong Tan Sang made that statement at the talks with President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Hanoi on June 8.
Especially, the visit took place on the occasion of the 20thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (July 14, 1992), the Vietnamese leader added.
In a friendly atmosphere, the two Presidents exchanged views on the bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual concerns.
Vietnam always attaches importance to consolidating and enhancing cooperation with traditional friends like Armenia, affirmed State President Sang.
Armenian President spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements as well as the country’s role and position gained during the past years of renovation.
With a long-lasting history of relations, the two leaders unanimously agreed to boost exchange of delegations, cooperation between the two sides’ ministries, agencies and localities to in order to create firm foundation for expanding the bilateral ties.
Both sides also focused on discussing measures to push up the two nations’ cooperation, particularly in economics, trade and investment. The two countries need to establish legal framework for bilateral cooperation and an Intergovernmental Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
State President Sang took the occasion to thank Armenia for supporting for Vietnam’s run for United Nations Human Rights Council membership in the phase from 2014-2016. He expressed his belief that the two nations will advocate each other at multilateral forums.
After the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing ceremony of documents on economic, trade, scientific and technological cooperation; visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders; and cooperation between the two foreign ministries./.
