The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has allocated some 500 million U.S. dollars (about 4.7 trillion rupiah) in standby loan to help Indonesia to cope with impacts of crisis that looming global economies at the moment, a statement released by the ADB said on Monday.
The loan is said to help Indonesia to boost its economy resilience in dealing with the crisis.
"Even though Indonesia has attained impressive growth, there are many challenges in the development that have to be coped with," ADB Asia Pacific Deputy Director, Stephen P Groff, said in the statement.
According to the ADB, the standby loan program for Indonesia is part of larger standby assistance programs provided by Japanese, Australian governments and the World Bank to address the same issue.
Besides the standby loan, the ADB and Indonesian government has reached a strategic partnership agreement worth 2.5 billion U.S. dollars to help spur Indonesia's growth from 2012 to 2014, the statement said.
It is expected to help Indonesia with investment projects, providing assistances for transportation, environmental control, financial, clean water, urban services and education sectors.
The ADB also pledged to help finance infrastructure investments to improve access to markets, energy and clean water in Indonesia./.
