As of July 20, 231 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects in Vietnam has asked for capital rise, which totalled US $2.83 billion, up 5.2% against the same period in 2011.
In Hanoi, 17 FDI projects have seen their capital added by US $153.4 million. The city expects to achieve its set goal of attracting FDI capital in 2012 thanks to the attraction of US $112.4 million in nine new FDI projects.
Japan’s Nidec Group has just added US $40 million into the Sai Gon Hi-tech Park project, bringing total investment of this project to US $246.5 million.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Investment, in the first half of this year, 50 FDI-invested projects in the city were added with more than US $459 million, up 127%.
In Bac Giang Province, Wintek Vietnam Co.Ltd, which produces touch screens for iPad and iPhone raised its investment capital to US $1.12 billion.
Sun Steel joint stock Company in Binh Duong Province also supplemented US $120 million to its investment, raising its total registered capital to US $420 million./.
