Viet Nam’s agriculture, aquaculture and forestry export in 2012 is estimated to reach US$27.54 billion, up 9.7% compared to last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The export turnover of agricultural products this year earned US$14.99 billion, up 10%, aqua-products US$6.15 billion, up 0.7% and forestry products US$4.9 billion, up 17.6%.
The export of rice is expected to attain 8.1 million tons, gaining US$3.7 billion, up 13.9% in volume and 2.1% in value.
Viet Nam earned US$3.74 billion through exporting 1.76 million tons of coffee, up 40.3% in volume and 36% in value.
Other products including rubber, tea, cashew nuts and pepper, maintained stable growth rates with the export value of US$2.85 billion (up 25% in volume), US$227 million (up 10.8% in volume and 11.5% in value), US$1.483 billion (up 25.4% in volume and 0.7% in value) and US$802 million (up 9.6% in value) respectively.
Viet Nam is still the largest cashew nut exporter in the world.
Cassava export witnessed the highest increase with 4.21 million tons, obtaining US$1.35 billion, up 57.1% in volume and 40.6% in value.
The exports of wood and timber products rose 18.5%, gaining nearly US$4.68 billion.
Aquatic products saw an increase of 0.7% with the total export value of US$6.15 billion.
