(MPI Portal) - On August 19th Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh had a meeting with delegation of enterprises from AmCham Hong Kong led by Mr. Richard Vuylsteke, Chairman of AmCham Hong Kong.

At the meeting, Minister Bui Quang Vinh affirmed the extremely practical cooperation between Vietnam and US in various fields, indicating the relative positive changes in the situation of US’s investment into Vietnam in recent times. So far, US has had about 659 projects with total investment capital of US$10.5 billion, ranking 7th in 101 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. In the coming time, the two countries will have many cooperation opportunities to build economic, cultural and trade ties towards mutual benefits for both countries.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Colin Browne, Deputy Director of Asia Sourcing of VF Corporation (USA) thanked Minister Bui Quang Vinh for reception and information sharing. He hoped that on the basis of potential and strengths of each country, the two sides should further facilitate the business community in both countries to have the opportunity to exchange, communicate in order to promote trade and investment in many sectors. US hopes, via Vietnam, to access extensive market in many fields, especially potential footwear and apparel sector, he said.
