(MPI Portal) - In the framework of a working visit to Vietnam, on July 28th, Mr. Yutaro ASO, President of Kyushu Economic Federation (Kyukeiren) had a meeting with Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh.

Kyushu which is one of the four main islands of Japan, located in the southwest, includes 7 provinces: Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Oita and Saga with a total population of 13.2 million people, yearly estimate of GDP is approximately US$505 billion. The strong fields of Kyushu include manufacturing and processing industries, automotive production, production of semiconductors, biotechnology, waste treatment and environmental cleanness, health and pharmaceutical industries.
Minister Bui Quang Vinh appreciated Kyukeiren’s cooperation with Vietnam and hoped Kyukeiren as a bridge to promote enterprises from Kyushu to invest in Vietnam in the coming time, especially in areas which are strengths of Kyushu and focused by Vietnam.
The six sectors prioritized to be invested in Vietnam are electronics, agricultural machinery, agricultural and aquatic product processing, shipbuilding, environment and energy saving, production of automobiles and automobile parts, added the Minister.
The main purpose of this Kyukeiren’s visit to Vietnam is to organize meetings for consultation with experts in investment fields in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Yutaro ASO hoped that Kyukeiren would have a clear roadmap to promote business investment for Kyushu’s firms into Vietnam in order to achieve the highest efficiency.
Also according to Minister Bui Quang Vinh, Government of Vietnam would facilitate Japanese firms to increase investment and business in Vietnam, as well as be willing to listen to constructive opinions of Japanese enterprises, including enterprises from Kyushu for an increasingly attractive investment environment of Vietnam.
Minister Bui Quang Vinh hoped The Vietnam - Kyushu Investment Cooperation Forum on September 19th in Fukuoka with the Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dao Quang Thu as team leader of Vietnam delegation would discuss more new investment projects, especially from small and medium-sized enterprises in Kyushu to invest in Vietnam. /.
