Export turnover of agriculture, forestry and aquaculture products in October hit US$2.39 billion, raising the export turnover in the past 10 months to US$22.73 billion, a year-on-year-increase of 0.2%.
Export value of agricultural items, aquaculture and forestry products achieved US$10.94 billion, down 12.3%, US$5.37 billion, up 6% and US$4.57 billion, up 14.8%, respectively.
In October, 526,000 tons of rice were exported for US$234 million, bringing the export volume in the 10 month period to 5.85 million of tons, a year on year decrease of 15.2 %, and export value to US$2.57 billion, a decline of 18%.
As for coffee, Viet Nam earned US$2.33 billion from exporting 1.09 million of tons in 10 months. In October only, the nation exported 58,000 tons for US$119 million.
The export of cashew saw a sharp increase with 23,000 tons, worth US$137 million in October and 212,000 tons, worth US$1.34 billion in the past 10 months, up 15.5% in volume and 8.5% in value.
Aquatic products still play a key role the nation's export value as they earned up to US$5.37 billion in the 10-month period, up 6% year on year. The UK is the largest seafood importer of Viet Nam, making up 21.7% of the total.
