Vietnam, Vanuatu agree to further technical cooperation
PM Nguyen Tan Dung and Vanuatu's PM Joe Natuman have agreed to beef up high-ranking delegation and people-to-people exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and confidence.

The agreement was reached during their talks in Ha Noi on Monday as part of PM Joe Natuman’s official visit to Viet Nam from October 5-9.

PM Dung applauded the guest’s visit, saying it will open a new stage in the relations between the two countries.

PM Dung took the occasion to thank the Government of Vanuatufor creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens in the Oceanian country.

PM Joe Natuman spoke highly of Viet Nam’s socio-economic achievements as well as its readiness to share experiences in international integration and development with Vanuatu, affirming that his country expects to accelerate cooperation in potential areas such as agriculture-forestry-aquaculture and mining.

He also asked the two sides to take measures to strengthen investment, trade and tourism likanges between the two nations.

Regarding regional and international situation, the two PMs highly valued mutual support at international and regional forums, agreeing on further coordination at multi-lateral cooperative mechanisms, especially the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement among others, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

For the East Sea issue, PM Joe Natuman stated that he advocates the position of Viet Nam and other ASEAN members on peaceful settlement of the East Sea disputes in line with international law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, working towards early conclusion of the Code of Conduct.

PM Joe Natuman invited PM Dung to pay an official visit to Vanuatu and the latter accepted with pleasure.

After the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Viet Nam and Vanuatu on technical cooperation and development./.
