Algeria and Indonesia will intensify cooperation in industry, following a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Jakarta on August 4.

The MoU defines bilateral cooperation strengthened in areas of their strength such as in textiles, furniture, mining, building materials, spare parts, transport and equipment, agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, metallurgy, food processing, petro-chemistry and fertilizers, said Algerian Minister of Industry and Mines Abdesselam Bouchouareb.
It mentions forms of cooperation, including public-private partnership and connection among the private sectors to promote bilateral collaboration in industry and investment, he added.
The MoU sets goals for cooperation and development and improvement of infrastructure quality while defining projects and programmes on training and experience sharing.
The MoU was signed by Algerian Minister of Industry and Mines Abdesselam Bouchouareb and his Indonesian counterpart, Airlangga Hartarto, within the framework of the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) which opened in Indonesia from August 2-4.
Meanwhile in Algiers, three joint projects in mining and production worth 4.5 billion USD were signed by Algerian and Indonesian enterprises./.
